Twenty-eight former 205th MP veterans, spouses, family members and friends joined together in Leavenworth to refresh our memories and renew friendships that, for many, began right here at the Fort 55 years ago in 1969. Friday evening was spent on the Hilton property just off Post in our private reception area where we enjoyed Luigi’s Pizza, a rolling slide presentation of events of yore, conducted our traditional ceremony honoring those who are no longer with us. Most of us spent a pleasant and quiet Saturday visiting the Fort, and many were treated to a tour of the old PMO that had undergone a complete transformation. That evening we held a group dinner in a private room at the Metropolitan Steakhouse (the little house across the street from the Big House).

MP’s attending included Mike & Jolita Burchett, Stan & Kathy Cohen, Richard Dunlap, Mark Eischeid and his friend Beth Mayberry, Jerry Forsland, Mike Hartley, Tim Hudak, Bernie Kean & his son, Sean, Gene & Mila Matter, Mike & Bennie McNulty, Richard Monger, Allen Stavig, Charles & Ellen Thomas, Tom & Shelly Williams, and Ron Ziegler. Our honored guests included Patty Carr, wife of Bobby, Brandi & Grace Carr, his daughter and granddaughter, and Jason Hutchins, Brandi’s fiancee. We were also privileged to welcome Tom Wilson as our newest honored member who transferred to the 205th from the USDB in April 1971. Tom was instrumental in hooking us up with the hotel, restaurants, resources, and serving as photographer, and providing transportation for easy access to the Fort.

As always we are indebted to Mike & Bennie McNulty. From the beginning, Mike has been the inspiration and driving force behind everyone of these reunions and Bennie, makes all the beautiful ladies joining us feel welcome and appreciated.
